Based in Desmet Ballestra’s leading-edge R&D Centre, your mission will be to design, execute, evaluate and report laboratory and pilot experiments in the field of oil processing, refining and modification. This includes following key responsibilities:
– Work on applied research and development projects in the broad field of edible oil refining and modification, biodiesel and oleo chemistry;
– Be involved in all phases of the R&D project, including preparation of the experimental set-up, the execution of necessary lab/pilot trials and the critical evaluation and reporting of the test results;
– Assist to audits and on-site trials in industrial plants;
– Represent the R&D team in internal and external meetings with other departments, research institutes and universities and major industrial clients;
– Work in partnership with the process engineers and the group refining specialists.
Your profile:
– You hold a Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Applied biological sciences, Food Technology or Chemistry;
– You have a first experience in (bio-) chemical process technology, ideally in food industry;
– You have practical skills to work with pilot and semi-industrial test units;
– You have strong analytical skills for a critical evaluation and comprehensive reporting of experimental data
– You have a proactive and self-driven attitude;
– You enjoy working in an international and multicultural work environment;
– Fluent in English both spoken and written. Any other language will be an asset;
– Open to travel occasionally abroad, for short stays (maximum 10% of the time);
